Lowveld Legend - Ray Sparrow

The design and layout of this publication was multi-facetted: it involved a good deal of research; collecting information and images – both recent and modern – from multiple sources; retouching of old photos; cameo illustrations and map creation; taking photographs and much text editing.

It was written by Ray Sparrow, who, in 1949, moved to the wilds of the Rhodesian Lowveld to forge a livelihood and create a home for his family. Part-memoir, part-historical document and part-chronicle of nature, this book is a living anthropological document taking us from then Rhodesia to today’s Zimbabwe.
